Acknowledgement of Country

Torquay Early Learning Centre would like to respectfully acknowledge the past and present traditional custodians of this land, the Wadawurrung people. We would also like to pay our respects to Elders past, present and future of the Kulin Nations.
We also acknowledge the contributions of Aboriginal Australians and Non-Aboriginal Australians to the education of all children and people that live on and share this country.
It is a privilege to be standing on Wadawurrung Country.

As a special 'School Holiday' treat, our Friendship Room educators took the children for a walk to the Surfcoast Library to choose a book each for group times. On the way back to the Centre, the children stopped at The Kiosk and ordered babycinos as a special afternoon tea treat! To celebrate Winter Solstice last week the Friendship room children and educators had a campfire in the Friendship/Courage yard. The children prepared minestrone soup and damper in the morning and then cooked 'their lunch' over the campfire. The children prepared minestrone soup and damper in the morning and then cooked their lunch over the campfire.
